It was only right that a weekday after my best man showed up for the weekend that I had the opportunity to relax and recover with the soothing sounds of Sigur Ros. Welp, it mostly happened. I’ve seen them before at the Uptown Tehater in Kansas City way back when and remember such a jovial, quiet style. I guess I didn’t remember everything correctly. Okay it’s been over a month since Fun Fun Fun Fest and now I’m finally getting down to writing about it. For the uninitiated, Fun Fun Fun Fest is a music festival in Austin, Texas that takes place in the fall. Amongst the bajillion music festivals in the Austin area, this one seems to be the most alternative and wacky. That’s two things that are near and ear to my heart. Hey I’m back again and I scored myself a pretty sweet deal seeing Jeff The Brotherhood Monday night. They headlined a small tour and it showed right up at Stubb’s Now, I was entertaining guests at the time so I didn’t get a chance to catch the first band, but I did get to see the 2nd biller along with these tiny little headliners. We are smack dab in the summer concert series and Thursday night kept it going strong. It was back to Emo’s East, or Emo’s I guess what it is now, to see the almighty Dirty Projectors with a little appetizing sauce that was Wye Oak. It was a truly indie night and the show helped clear the palette for what I’ve been through. Im’ not saying it’s the turning point of the summer, but it definitely marks the spot where I’ve been musically. All the bases are covered now except for rap, but that’s okay. So how did they do?

Okay, I’ve been super busy building things and making music that I haven’t had the chance to really sit downa nd go over the concerts I hit up this spring. Believe it or not, there was plenty of acts to roll on through Austin after SXSW to keep my bill full.
